Arachne Virtual Catalogue Live With V-spaces Federated Search

BRUSSELS, Belgium, December 16, 2007. The Arachne Virtual Catalogue, a combined project of public libraries in Flanders, Belgium, has successfully gone live using Infor’s V-spaces information portal and federated search solution. With the Arachne implementation of V-spaces, public libraries in Flanders now offer their patrons a personalized application to search multiple information resources at the same time.

The Arachne project enables participating libraries in Flanders to manage their own library system, while offering users a central, virtual catalogue. Through a single query and a single interface, users can search public library catalogues, Web sites, search engines and more.
